
Bio:
Coach Chris Tomsheck's collegiate water polo career began at Palomar
Junior College where he earned JC All-American honors. After
two years, Chris transferred to Slippery Rock University where he
played
in 1991 and 1992. SRU finished first in the Mid-Atlantic
Conference
these two years. In addition to winning the conference, SRU
finished
first at Eastern's Chris' senior year, finishing the regular season
undefeated
on the East Coast. At the NCAA tournament that year,
SRU placed
7th.
Some of Chris' water polo accomplishments: Conference Player of the Year, MVP, All mid-Atlantic team, and All East team. Chris set the record for the most ejections drawn in a single season (244). Chris also played on the National B-team and the All East All-star team.
Chris returned to his HS Alma Mater, Loyola Academy, to coach the men's water polo team. In 1994, Loyola became coed and Chris was the school's first women's water polo coach. He remained there for four years and then made the move to collegiate coaching in 1998. The 2006 season will be Chris' 8th season with the cats.
Chris lives with his wife, Eileen, in Glenview, Illinois. Chris and Eileen are the proud parents of Winnie, Charlie and Henry (since January 16, 2006!!!). In addition to being a father, husband and water polo coach, Chris can be found trading commodities on the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.
