About

The Northwestern Table Tennis Club was started in 2005 by Taarif Jafferi and Bobby Krenn as an outlet for all table tennis enthusiasts at Northwestern and in Evanston.

It has since grown into a close-knit and fun community of ping pong lovers from all different backgrounds. The club consists of two competitive teams of serious players chosen on their skill level who compete in regional tournaments, but is open to any and all recreational players who love the sport or just want to hit a few balls.

Practice is held in the Norris student center. The club has six high quality tables (Butterfly etc), and balls and paddles to lend out. Practice for team members is at least once a week, and includes optional swimming and physical training in addition to table tennis drills, led by Ned Leuchtner, an accomplished table tennis coach and player himself.
