Hello again and hope everyone's been enjoying a fantastic summer! Less than 3 weeks until move-in at Northwestern, and that means tryouts for the new season are coming up FAST! Here are the fabulously juicy details:
The Northwestern Synchronized Team is holding tryouts for the upcoming season and all skaters are invited to attend. The team will provide transportation to and from tryouts. Pick up will be at 6:30 at SPAC/ 6:35 at Blomquist. We'll have one hour of off-ice work from 7-8pm to learn footwork sequences, get warmed up, etc, and the actual on-ice tryout will be from 8:15-9:15pm.
Skaters will be asked to perform basic elements like stroking, crossovers, spirals, single jumps, as well as footwork in the line.
No synchro experience is required, so if you have any history of figure skating we definitely encourage you to tryout!
For more information, stop by the Activites Fair which will be held September 21st from 3:30-7pm in Norris, or please contact President Corey Merrill. Enjoy the rest of the summer and looking forward to seeing you all very soon! :)

Hello hello... :) A few edits have been made on the site here and there:
* updated Exec Board biographies
* fixed donations and recruitment contacts
Also, the team is currently looking to participate in a program called CitySkate, where skaters work with kids from the Rice Center in Evanston. The team would teach about once a week, and then at the end of the school year the program holds an exhibition/silent auction to raise money and awareness. Kori, the founder, began the program so underpriviledged kids would have the opportunity to skate and have a support system.
That's all the news for now. Have an excellent Easter weekend!

Welcome again to the NUSST Official Website!
Just this past weekend, the team competed in their first competition of the season at the 2006 Mid-America Synchronized Skating Championships. The competition was held in Fraser, Michigan, hosted by the Fraser FSC. The team finished fifth place in the collegiate division and are looking forward to the final stretch before Mids, coming up in a little over a week! We wish the girls the best of luck. :)
In other news, Sk8stuffmore.com has a good selection of pictures from the competition, which can be viewed here. Many thanks to Sam for sending out the link! New pictures will be posted later on today, so be sure to check out the gallery. That's all for now!
