GETTING OFF AND GETTING INTIMATE: THE DIFFERENT WORLDS OF BLACK AND WHITE FRATERNITIES
4:00 PM
Tech Auditorium
On many college campuses across the United States, including our own, Greek letters of various symbols and colors can be seen showering university student centers, lawns, and courtyards. Yet few of us stop to think of fraternities as institutions that structure our sexual lives. Rashawn Ray from Indiana University will speak on the idea of a fraternity as such, especially in a racial context. Using the actual voices, attitudes, and behavior of fraternity brothers, Rashawn will attempt to answer questions such as: How do fraternities structure their members' approaches towards women? And how do black and white fraternities differ in their approaches? Come to find out the answers to these questions and more! Co-sponsored by FMO, African American Student Affairs, and NUnite.
