Message from the Co-Presidents
Rainbow Alliance is Northwestern University’s gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, queer, questioning, intersex, and ally student group.
Welcome to Rainbow Alliance! If this is your first time on campus, congratulations on your decision to come to Northwestern. We can't wait to meet you! And if you're a returning student, we can't wait to see you again.
We wanted to write this note to introduce what Rainbow is and does on campus. Rainbow is the only undergraduate LGBTQA (that's Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgendered, Questioning and Allied) student group on campus. To that end, we seek to provide a safe space for people of all genders and sexualities. Throughout the year, we plan a variety of educational, activist and social programming. To give you an idea of how broad our programming can be, last year we threw a Guitar Hero tournament, had RENT's Anthony Rapp speak, marched for Matthew Shepherd and painted the Rock.
And we have exciting plans for this year too. We want them to include you! You are all welcome to attend our biweekly general meetings, on Thursdays in Kresge 2-410 at 8:00pm. Come see what we're all about! You can also learn more about how to get involved and stay informed about our upcoming events. Being a part of Rainbow has been one of our most rewarding experiences at Northwestern, and we want to make sure that everyone has a place on campus to express oneself as they truly are.
