Purple Haze is a co-ed a cappella group at Northwestern University in Evanston, IL (just outside of Chicago). In the competitive and vibrant atmosphere that is the a cappella scene at Northwestern we pride ourselves in being the premier group, maintaining the highest standards of musicality while still keeping the fun and love alive.

We've done some amazing things since our creation just 10 years ago. Four of our songs from our five studio albums are featured on BOCA (Best of College A Cappella) compilations and we've just produced our best album yet - "Rutherford P. Haze" - released in the spring of 2006. Popstars and Rock DJ, off of that album, were selected and are featured on the National compilation CD- "Voices Only 2006" and "Voices Only 2007," respectively. We also love to sing anywhere and everywhere: we're based in Evanston, Illinois but we've performed all over the midwest, the rest of the U.S., Dublin, Rome, and New England. We're ready to travel anywhere! Last spring we traveled to Barcelona, performing in professional venues and in town squares, and work-shopping a cappella music with both Spanish and American International schools. We sing at private house parties, at dorm munchies, at the rock, at club parties, for sororities, for fundraising events, for schools (ask about school workshops- check out the video in our iTunes podcast).. you name it - we sing there.
