NUSAF Annual Elections 17 April 2009 By Daisy Zhu

The fragrance of pineapple rice wafted through the ISRC lounge. NUSAF’s master chef and her multiple sous-chefs were preparing munchies for elections held annually in Spring quarter. Curly fries, chicken nuggets, kaya and egg mayo sandwiches and not to mention the irresistible fruit kebabs (in order: grape, strawberry, honeydew/papaya, strawberry, grape) were sitting in ISRC, waiting to be carried over to the election venue – Big Ten Room at Norris.

Before elections officially commenced, Uncle ChengXun Chua, our now ex-president, shared with us his reminiscence of NUSAF’s past:

When I first got elected, NUSAF was a very different organization, with only about 10 members. The elections were held in the Hinman lounge. Then-President Jane Lim requested all members to close their eyes and vote by raising hands, and viola! the new exec was elected :) NUSAF has come a long way since then, with many more members, activities, and a clearly more elaborate election process.

After a 4-hour marathon election interspersed with F&B breaks, our new exco was finally elected. Congratulations to our new
