NUSAF taking to the ice!

It was a cooooold Saturday evening in November 2008 when about 10 brave NUSAFers set out to conquer the mighty ice skating ring at Millennium park :P On arriving in Chicago, they had many Chicagoans welcoming and cheering them on (the lights parade was taking place in Chicago :) ) as they charged up on fried chicken and made their way to the ice :P

On the way to the imposing ice, Kx Zhihui, and Eu-wen got lost in the celebrating crowds while the rest of us enjoyed the city's hospitality - they even closed the roads for us and we have pictures to prove it!!!!! (the roads were closed for the parade and we took full advantage of this fact by stting on the road and taking pics :) )

The wait to rent ice skates was long and daunting, but we were not to be deterred as Yee Hong, the superstar skater, shared tips and tricks.... Wan Lin sneaked into the group while we were waiting :p and after many anxious moments, we finally hit the ice and took off.... literarally for some of us like Yee Hong and for me, lets just say figuratively :P

For being in skates on the ice for the first time, I must say I impressed myself as I dragged my feet along holding the bar the first couple of laps and then slid without support. (yes yes, laugh :P, you were there too at some point too). In the middle of the pack, Steph and Wan-lin skated hand in hand (auuuu so sweet :P ) while Tiffany was getting back into form... Ben persevered and got pretty good by the end as did everyone else... I must say our unduanted courage led us to conquer the imposing ice of Chicago!!

The way back was riddled with the usual NUSAFness --- Kx picking up a cracker from the ground and chucking it into Ben's mouth, only for Ben to realize what had happened once it was in his mouth :P

Overall a great and fun trip... Lets do it again while the ice is still coooold
