Curling Tournaments aka Bonspiels
Bonspiels are day- or weekend-long events, usually consisting of round-robin play in small brackets, with the top team(s) breaking out for the finals. They are a great way to meet others in the curling community in some friendly games. The NU Curling Club has participated in Regional and National College Bonspiels in the past, and hosted a Northwestern Bonspiel these past five years. Keep reading for more details on these!

College Curling

Every March college students from around the country have gathered at the college curling national bonspiel to duke it out on the ice. The Northwestern Curling Club has sent multiple teams since 2005, with 3 teams entered last year. Luckily for us, this competition was held right here in Chicago, on home ice. Starting in 2011-2012, there will be a new regional format for college curling. For more info, go to www.collegecurling.org

Congratulations to Marc Palmeri, Erik Sczygelski, Albert Lipson, and Justin Connell for winning the Bronze in Division 1 as well as Martin McBriarty, Michael Lucas, Paul Olczak, and Thomas Leeper for winning the Gold in Division 3 in 2011!

Northwestern Bonspiel

Date: TBD
At the end of the season, we hold a Northwestern Bonspiel for those who have come out this year. This is a great opportunity for everyone to try out those curling skills gained this year in a competitive but fun setting.

Congratulations to Justin Connell, Rita Cook, David Meyer and Jared Erickson for winning the 5th annual NU Bonspiel! A big thanks to everyone who participated in the event!
