Welcome to what promises to be an exciting NUMUN III. Our staff has been working throughout the year to ensure that this conference runs smoothly and enjoyably for everyone. I hope that everyone is excited about being in such a select committee that will provide everyone ample opportunities to express their ideas. Before I get into what our committee will get to do, let me introduce myself. I am a sophomore engineering major from Cleveland, Ohio. Throughout high school I participated in a number of model UN conferences, mostly participating in smaller committees such as the Security Council, the African Union, the European Union, NATO, and the Arab League. Last year I vice-chaired the Future Security Council. Through experience in these small committees, I believe the structure I have laid out for our committee will make the entire weekend much more enjoyable for everyone.
