We have several new opportunities for this school year. Brillianteen, Jr. needs volunteers to serve as vocal coaches and accompanists for their production of Annie. Soul Creations needs people to help them spread their soul throughout the Evanston area. We need people to do sectionals and private lessons for the New Horizons Band for seniors. And last, but not least, West Park Academy's music program needs help starting a choral group and doing sectionals for their band. I hope you all take advantage of these new opportunities.

There is a church in Rogers Park that is seeking to develop a "community music school." They would like to staff it with college students. The church has about 20 singers, children through adults. This is a volunteer position and may be great experience for an aspiring music educator to develop an inner city program. The group meets Wednesday evenings.
If interested, call Maurice at 773/381-4606. Let him know that the referral came through, Mary Ellen Pinzino, director of Come Children Sing.
November 2004:
MLC is now a B-Status student organization with ASG!
That means we receive the following privileges:
- Reserving space: ASG recognized groups are allowed to make space reservations at the Norris University Center for meeting rooms or other spaces. Call Campus Reservations at 491-2330. Other campus spaces can be reserved through different departments.
- Access to studorg: ASG maintains the student organization web server and groups have access to the server through registration with ASG. The ASG Technology Director can help members of an organization establish a web page and aid in other internet services.
- Access to Web Calendar of Events: With ASG-recognition, groups may post their events to the campus wide Calendar of Events on the World Wide Web.
- Advisor: ASG refers a list of ASG-recognized student groups to the Campus Activities Office (CAO). Each group will receive an advisor from this office. You may contact your advisor by calling the CAO at 491-2350. Groups may also establish relationships with advisors outside of CAO.
- Group Executive: All ASG-recognized groups are assigned a member of the ASG Executive Committee to communicate important ASG information as well as monitor the progress of a group.
- ASG Copier: Each group is assigned a copier code by the ASG Treasurer for use with the ASG copier, located in the ASG Outer Office (Norris 3G). Expenses for the copies will be charged to that group at the end of each quarter.
- ASG Computer Equipment: ASG maintains a Power Macintosh computer, Dell computer, laser printer, and color scanner in the ASG Outer Office for student group use.
