Mission Statement
MLC is committed to establishing a community of musicians who desire to share and enhance music-making and who strive for continuous learning and education in the classroom and community.The organization also seeks to improve the relationships between faculty and students at Northwestern through guest lectures and other activities, organize benefit concerts and fundraisers, and provide unique learning opportunities and musical experiences to the general student body.
MLC represents the student chapters of three professional music education organizations—the American String Teachers’ Association, the American Choral Directors’ Association, and the National Association for Music Education.
MLC advocates the Student Advisory Board of the School of Music, which serves as a liaison between the students and the administration in the School of Music.
