The Decemberists

The Decemberists, a five-piece British-folk-inspired outfit led by singer/songwriter/guitarist Colin Meloy, create music that spins the listener up into fantastic stories of love, history, and journey. Chantey-like tunes, epics, and dark narratives only begin to scrape their palate of compositions, most of which are built upon folk frameworks and historical happenings (their name is derived from the 1825 Decembrist revolt in Imperial Russia, after all). With their diverse instrumentation--which includes upright bass, accordion, organ, and more--and moving vocals, they stir the audience's emotion in live performance and are sure to drive a great show onstage at this year's Dillo Day.

Tally Hall

Named after an indoor shopping plaza in Farmington Hills, Michigan, Tally Hall is a five-man band that plays indie rock with traces of hip-hop. The band has made appearances on MTV and the Late Late Show, as well as at various music festivals, including Lollapalooza last summer. In addition to their music, these guys have a sense of humor: they launched an Internet show on their website that includes everything from sock puppets to official music videos, dancing silverware to the Olsen twins. After releasing their first album - Marvin's Marvelous Mechanical Museum - in 2005, Tally Hall was signed by Atlantic Records.
