    Chicago born, Grammy winning rapper Common began his career in the underground rap world of the early '90s. Unlike his peers, Common's rhymes were intellectually driven and politically conscious, earning him national recognition and critical acclaim. Comman has worked with many other major artists such as Kanye West, Lauryn Hill, Lily Allen, and Alicia Keys. he has also starred in several major motion pictures such as "Smokin' Aces," "Street Kings," and "American Gangster." His hit albums and movies garner Common more fans each day and make him one of Chicago's most celebrated artists. At the 2008 Grammy Awards, he won Best Rap Performance by a Duo/Group for his single "Southside." His latest album, Finding Forever, was also nominated for Best Rap Album, giving him a total of 2 Grammy wins and 9 nominations.
