Kappa Delta knows how to give back to the community.

Girl Scouts of the USA
In 1998,we adopted the Girl Scouts of the USA as a national philanthropy. We have our own Kappa Delta/Girl Scout patch! Thousands of young women and girls are benefitting from interaction with positive KD role models as they work to earn the Kappa Delta patch and wear it with pride on their sashes.

Prevent Child Abuse America
Kappa Delta was the first sorority to choose the prevention of child abuse as a national philanthropy. A KD sister, Donna Stone, championed the cause of preventing child abuse as a national concern, and today her organization — Prevent Child Abuse America — has branches in all fifty states! Collectively,KDs across the world have given nearly $8 million dollars and millions upon millions of volunteer hours in support of the prevention of child abuse.
At Northwestern, our Lambda chapter holds an annual 5K race in the fall to benefit Prevent Child Abuse America. The Demon Dash attracts students and Evanston residents alike to come run in costumes for a good cause.

Orthopaedic Research Awards
Since 1950, Kappa Delta has funded the highly coveted Orthopaedic Research Awards through the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS). The three awards of $20,000 each are considered by the Academy to be the highest recognition of excellence and promise in orthopaedic research! Starting with a $1,000 contribution in 1950, Kappa Delta has given over $1.33 million dollars to the AAOS.

Children's Hospital in Richmond, Virginia
Kappa Delta’s support of the Children’s Hospital in Richmond,Virginia dates back to 1921 with a modest pledge of $1,200 to support two beds. Today, the Kappa Delta Foundation Children In Need Fund donates $25,000 annually directly to the hospital in honor of our historical commitment.

Northwestern Community
You can also see Kappa Deltas supporting the philanthropy events of organizations on campus. Every year, Lambda chapter sponsors several teams of dancers and raises thousands of dollars for Dance Marathon. Additionally, Kappa Delta's are active in the philanthropies of the Greek Community - we understand that there are hundreds of philanthropies out there that can use our support.
