Firesides are academically-focused dorm events held in the main lobby of ISRC. Generally, there are five firesides per quarter, or one every other week. The topics of these events are varied and appeal to wide-ranging interests.

Recent firesides include information sessions about the study abroad program, an academic lecture about bears in southeast Asia, and a discussion with Northwestern Athletic Director Jim Phillips about the status of sports, athletic clubs, and IM sports at the university.
Upcoming fireside topics include:
•Running and marathons by dorm master Margaret Dempster
•A campus tour by dorm fellow Laurie Schiller
•A fellowship informational session by dorm fellow Stephen Hill
Firesides are an exciting and interesting way to learn about new topics, or strengthen knowledge in activites or subject matter that are already well know. Firesides also count for one academic point.
