Listserv Instructions
Subscribing to the ISO Listserv
  1. Send e-mail to listserv@listserv.it.northwestern.edu without any subject line. Make sure that you send the email from the address which you wish to subscribe. It must be either an "@northwestern.edu" or "@u.northwestern.edu" address.
  2. Type the following command in the message:

         SUBSCRIBE ISO Firstname Lastname

    Note: In order to successfully subscribe to a list, make sure HTML formatting in your e-mail is turned off (in plain text), you are not using e-mail signatures, your commands are in English, and you send your commands to listserv@listserv.it.northwestern.edu.
Subscribe Example
Eric Westhof wants to subscribe to the ISO listserv. He sends an e-mail to listserv@listserv.it.northwestern.edu and types the command SUBSCRIBE ISO Eric Westhof from his Westhof2010@u.northwestern.edu email address.

Directions for older students to send messages to the listserv using their old email (@northwestern.edu) accounts
Since Northwestern recently switched your email address to the u.northwestern.edu address, you may have noticed you cannot send messages to the ISO listserv because your old email is registered. In order to fix this, you have to enable your old email address in your u.northwestern account.
Enabling your @northwestern.edu address:
  1. Log into your u.northwestern.edu account
  2. Click “Settings” in the top right, then click the accounts tab
  3. Click "Add another email address" and fill in your old "@northwestern.edu" email address
  4. You should now receive a confirmation number in an email. Go to your inbox, copy and paste this into the appropriate box.
  5. Finally, click the hyperlink in the same email that confirms the request
In order to send messages to the listserv, send the message to ISO@listserv.it.northwestern.edu and make sure to select your "@northwestern.edu" account under the pull down menu.
