The 2009 International Student Orientation will be from September 12th to September 15th. More information will be coming soon, but for now.....
BECOME AN INTERNATIONAL PEER ADVISOR (IPA)
An international peer advisor (IPA) will help incoming international freshmen and transfer students settle into life at Northwestern. A peer advisor will have a group of new students which he/she will be responsible for. The process should begin through correspondence throughout the summer before their arrival as a referral point for any questions or worries the student may have. Once the new students have arrived at Northwestern, IPAs will lead them through the initial adjustment to life here through organized activities like potential shopping trips and other bonding activities.
Prior to this, IPAs will be training throughout spring quarter and this training will be mandatory.
*Note: The 2009 ISO will be from the 12th to 15th of September. IPAs will be required to be back on campus on the 11th. Attendance during the orientation is MANDATORY. IPAs and new students will live in a dorm together for 4 days and will also get to move in a day earlier than the actual move-in day.
