Founders

The Investment Management Group (then known as the "Investment Management Club") was founded in Spring of 2008 by Jennifer Zhang and Christine Nguyen when they were upcoming seniors at Northwestern University. In the Spring of 2009, they applied for T-Status recognition with ASG. It was also in Spring of 2009, under the new Executive Board headed by President Brandon Zaharoff (NU '11) that the Investment Management Club changed its name to the Investment Management Group.

 

Jennifer Zhang (NU '09)

Jennifer is a senior at Northwestern University, majoring in Economics with a minor in Harvey Kapnick Business Institutions. She has also received the Kellogg School of Management Certificate in Financial Economics. She has previously served as the Deputy Director of the Financial Services Group of the Institute for Student Business Education and the Chair of Finance of the McCormick Student Advisory Board. She has previously worked for such firms as Goldman Sachs Private Wealth Management, Morningstar, Inc. and was a consultant at Deloitte LLP. Jennifer has recently joined the Marc J. Lane Wealth Group as Business Development Associate. (http://www.marcjlane.com/)

Christine Nguyen (NU '09)

Co-founded the Investment Management Club (now the Investment Management Group) with Jennifer Zhang. Jennifer approached Christine with the idea and they began planning for the 2008-2009 school year. During this time, Christine was pursuing two engineering degrees at the McCormick School of Engineering, Applied Mathematics and Industrial Engineering. She has worked as a research assistant with Kellogg Professor Benjamin Lansford as well as finish an independent project with her advisor, Dr. Barry Nelson. Christine will begin her graduate studies at the University of Southern California in Industrial Engineering.
