On Saturday, July 14, 2003, G-SALSA had the first picnic at the lakefront's Centennial Park just south of campus. With funds obtained through The Graduate School, Latino-Hispanic Student Services and Graduate Housing, we were able to gather approximately 50 people. With fabulous Puertorrican food, and typical Mexican BBQ, we had a great time and many of the students were able to meet and socialize with other students of Latino/hispanic heritage and/or from Spain, the Caribbean, Central and South American countries. Thanks so much to Martin Arteaga (TGS), Kiersten Elliott (Graduate Housing) and Guadalupe Temiquel (Multicultural Center/Hispanic-Latino Student Services) for their cooperation in the accomplishment of this activity.
