Vagina Monologues and V-week

Winter Quarter

Sexual expression is a current of kinetic energy running through our bodies. It whirligigs up our cunts, charges through our entire being and slam dances on out into the world back through our cunts. Comin' our brains out. (Inga Muscio, CUNT)

Northwestern's reproduction of Eve Ensler's Vagina Monologues. V-Day is a global movement to stop violence against women and girls. V-Day is a catalyst that promotes creative events to increase awareness, raise money and revitalize the spirit of existing anti-violence organizations. V-Day generates broader attention for the fight to stop violence against women and girls, including rape, battery, incest, female genital mutilation (FGM) and sexual slavery.

Through V-Day campaigns, local volunteers and college students produce annual benefit performances of The Vagina Monologues to raise awareness and funds for anti-violence groups within their own communities.

V-Day is a fierce, wild, unstoppable movement and community. Join us!

All the proceeds go to Anne's Home(a local organization that profides sexual assault counseling for college women).

Sex Week

April 9th-14th

Sex. It's everywhere around us, captivating every aspect of our lives.
From biology (theories of evolution) to Cosmopolitan to physics (opposites attract) to Grey's Anatomy. We think about it often, talk about it with our friends, and hear amazing sex-related stories every day. Basic human instincts revolve around reproduction, perhaps explaining our mass fascination with this mysterious aspect of life. Now it's time to start the discussion and debate. Enter Sex Week.

Sex Week at Northwestern is about learning and re-examining currently held opinions regarding sex and misconceptions about sexual health. This is not your usual (read: painfully awkward, prepubescent) sex ed. Our mission is simple: we want people to start talking. All kinds of pressures from friends, parents, media, or religion, etc. exist to influence, shape, or threaten one's sense of sexuality. When it comes to sex, ignorance is far from bliss. Sex Week hopes to provide students with an interesting and informative opportunity to explore the many roles sex plays in life. There is no religious or ideological affiliation: just an open forum to learn and discuss. Conclusion: sex is everywhere,
Sex Week is coming, let's get it on.
