Recruitment
We love getting to know our newest members! To register for formal recruitment, which takes place during the winter, please sign up on the Northwestern University Panhellenic website.

New Member Recruitment is an exciting week-long process. After the first three sets, potential new members attend Informals, a fun day of skits and snacks. The next night is Preference Night, which allows Delta Zeta to share a glimpse of its rituals and experiences with potential new members. Finally, recruitment culminates with Bid Night, when new Delta Zetas receive their bids and spend a night partying with their new sisters.

Before initiation, new members get a chance to really experience what Delta Zeta is all about. Each new member has a Rose Buddy, an initiated sister to welcome her into the chapter. New members come to the house each week to learn about the history, values, and events of Delta Zeta from the New Member Educator while getting to know other new members. Perhaps the best part of the new member experience is Big Sis/Little Sis Week, when new Delta Zetas are showered with gifts and treated like princesses. At the end of the week, new members go on a retreat to bond with their new sisters. The next day, big sisters are revealed. The new member period culminates with Lamplighting, a beautiful ceremony the night before initiation.

What's a Recruitment Counselor?

Every woman who chooses to participate in formal recruitment is assigned to a Recruitment Counselor with a group of other women. She is there to lead you through the recruitment process, give advice and guidance, and handle the official choices you will make after each set.
