Welcome to BMEGS, the Biomedical Engineering Graduate Students website!

Here you will find all the information a Biomedical Engineering (BME) graduate student at Northwestern University needs. Any member of the BME graduate student community can be in BMEGS- you are automatically in the group if you are and there are no membership fees or requirements! This web page is constantly under revision, so feel free to contact us with comments and suggestions to improve it.

If you are going to be a new graduate student in the Fall, we will be posting additional helpful information soon. In the meantime, if you have questions, you can contact anyone on the Students with Open Doors page, or more specifically, Matt Webber(m-webber) and Tony Jarc(a-jarc). All e-mails end with @northwestern.edu. Hope you're excited about coming to Northwestern!

If you are a prospective graduate student, this department site has more information about admissions and requirements for the MS and PhD programs.

***NEW GRAD STUDENT INFO***

First, you may want to check out our FAQ and Resources pages for the most frequent questions about graduate life here at Northwestern. We are in the middle of overhauling these pages to give you the most current information and replacing dead links.

Need help choosing classes? Ask people on the Students with Open Doors list! Or take a look at the following:

  • Course descriptions and syllabi
  • BME 2006-2007 Course schedule
  • Degree Requirements (which lists required courses and electives for each tract and has sample course plans for your time here)
  • CAESAR- Course registration and Student Accounts site. Instructions for finding classes offerred: Click on "View the Quarterly Class Schedule" -> Click on "Search for Classes" -> Select "Fall 2007" (under Term) and Click on "Basic Search" -> Select the Department you wish to search for classes.

Required forms have also been posted in their entirety for all current MS and PhD graduate students. Enjoy!
