What is BLAST?

BLAST is a group committed to and excited about spreading the joy of social and ballroom dancing to Northwestern, the surrounding community, and to anyone else who shares in our passion for partner dancing! BLAST provides opportunities for everyone to learn to dance, perform in our annual Spring show, compete in ballroom competitions, and party like crazy!

In it's 8th year of existence, BLAST is continuously growing in numbers, experience, and dynamic performances. With expertise in over 12 different dance types, you won't find another dance group on campus with more variety!

Classes and Parties
As a service to the Northwestern community, BLAST offers many different classes and private lessons at a heavily discounted rate. We also throw FREE dance parties for all of our students and friends to practice their dance moves and technique in a relaxed environment. Check out our classes page for more details!

Performance

Competition
The BLAST Ballroom Competition Team is the official ballroom competitive team of Northwestern University, which travels and competes in different collegiate competitions around the Midwest. Find out more at our competition page!

Aside from the shows, competitions, and classes, BLAST is a social group...period. When we're not rehearsing for an upcoming performance or competition, we're hanging out together at social dance parties, dance clubs, and wherever else we find ourselves!

Whatever we do, dancing is always involved in some capacity. We'll dance anywhere, whether it be at a restaurant or even out in the streets! To put it simply, BLAST is non-stop dancin'...and we thank you for taking the time to find out more about our club!
