Winning the Nobel Peace Prize in 1976, the group functions through community and student based groups that use various forms of advocacy to work for equal human rights around the globe. AI is independent of any government, political ideology, economic interest or religion. Our organization AI at NU focuses on: - Letter-writing and petitioning to political figures around the world regarding human rights abuses - Fundraising for specific campaigns & non-profit groups - Bringing speakers, film screenings, & other events to NU to raise awareness of human rights issues - Providing students with opportunities for internships, volunteer work, etc.
